Job Description:
Established Software Company seeks Senior Software Engineer to provide pre-sales support to prospective clients.
The Senior Software Pre-Sales Engineer will be responsible for providing pre-sales technical / functional support to prospective clients and supporting existing customers.
Responsibilities include:
- Articulate product features and benefits, product direction and the company’s software solutions through presentations and demonstrations.
- Design, and present the company’s software solutions to prospective customers.
- Conduct discovery sessions and requirements gathering.
- Conduct and manage Proof of Value activities.
- Qualify opportunities and convert leads into successful deals.
- Provide support to Sales Account Executives to move the sales cycle along.
- Manage the implementation of proposed solutions.
- Develop and manage customers through high quality technical, professional relationships.
- Assist with developing and managing reference sites through high quality technical and professional client relationships.
- Act as a technical resource for less experienced Sales Account Executives and Pre-sales Consultants.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree required (technical major desirable); Masters Degree a plus.
- Minimum 5 years of either software development experience (developer, system analyst, technical project management) or 3+ years experience with successful software pre-sales support.
- Technical experience with object oriented design, Java programming, data base tools such as Oracle, Sequel or Sybase.
- Proven track record of successful sales support activity.
- Solid knowledge of the software sales cycle and demonstrated ability to understand customer needs and present business solutions and quantify ROI.
- Experience with developing applications and the system development life cycle in a project management, consulting, pre-sales or similar role.
- Fully conversant with and experienced in at least one recognized sales methodology, ideally solution selling.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Customer focused and have the ability to manage and resolve solutions to complex technical issues.
- Ability to travel 50% throughout North America as required.
- Ensure software proposal meets customer business requirements.
- Proven ability to gain cooperation of others, proven leadership skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, outstanding presentation and interpersonal skills, and ability to interface with senior level staff are required.
- Highly motivated; hands-on.
