Job Description:
Hands on Controller sought by Large Manufacturing Company.
The Controller will be responsible for managing the affairs of the accounting department. Function as a member of the management team in strategic planning and advisory capacities. Participate in re-engineering efforts, conducting M&A due diligence and perform special projects as required. Candidate will report directly to the CFO.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, year-end consolidated financial statements
- Prepare annual budgets and middle- and long-term management plans
- Budgeting and forecasting
- Financial reporting including annual budgets and quarterly forecasts for executive management
- Financial analysis, inventory control, accounts receivable, accounts payable, expense control
- Prepare financial information for tax provision
- Property and sales tax
- Prepare external financial reports including foot disclosures and supporting schedules
- Manage internal and external audits
- Ensure compliance with local, federal and international financial reporting standards
- Ensure SOX compliance
- Develop financial processes and systems
- Hiring, training and supervision of accounting department staff
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration or related field; MBA desired
- CPA required
- 10+ years experience in increasingly responsible SEC accounting positions including experience at a manufacturing corporation
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and consolidation accounting methods
- Knowledge of general corporate finance and taxation
- Ability to collect and analyze complex data, evaluate information and draw logical conclusions
- Experience controlling manufacturing operations preferred
- Sarbanes-Oxley experience preferred
- Experience in financial auditing
- SAP/R3 experience; knowledge of information systems technology
- Strong project management skills
- Ability to negotiate and resolve problems
